The Dillon Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program has a new junior
facility. After gaining approval from the Denver Water Board, Dillon Marina
and the town of Dillon we are now underway to continue our education for the
next generation of outstanding sailors in the state of Colorado. The DYC
Junior Sailing Committee took advantage of this wonderful opportunity to
select a new location designed just for the kids and established a place they
can call home. The realization of the DYC Junior Sailing center obviously comes
with a financial commitment for its construction. Therefore, we are reaching
out to the community and seeking pledges to offset the construction expenses.
With the current funds, we have to make sure we maintain highly skilled
instructors for teaching and proper upgrades to the sailing equipment in
which they have been earmarked for. How are we doing this? We are giving away two different name
plaques that will be placed on each log on either side of the cabin's front
door. For example, all the names on the left side of the door will be for the
“Skippers Club” with a $500 pledge and the names on the right side of the
door will be for the “Admiral's Club” our $1,000 pledges. Of course,
any pledge regardless of the amount will be very beneficial. There is a lengthy wish list for additional pieces of equipment
and other furnishings for the facility and we would welcome any further
donations into our appeal. You can donate by check or money order by mailing your donation
to: The DYC Junior Sailing Program P.O. Box 4086 Dillon, CO 80435. To make a contribution by
